Immersive Disney Animated Experience Coming to LA in June – The Hollywood Reporter

Immersive Disney animation comes to Los Angeles.

The experience created by Disney Animation and Lighthouse Immersive Studios (Haunting Van Gogh), has opened in about a dozen cities since December and will debut in LA at Lighthouse ArtSpace on June 23. Ticket sales begin May 12 and prices start at $29.99.

“A combination of art exhibition and cinema,” according to Oscar-winning producer J. Miles Dale (The shape of the water), who led the creative team, describes the walk-thru experience that includes Disney titles from early work like snow white To The little mermaid, Frozen And Enchanted – along with their classical music – while taking advantage of projection mapping to create a 360-degree experience.

“We are proud to announce that we will be presenting this spectacular exhibition at the birthplace of Disney Animation, where our studio’s first creations took shape,” said Dorothy McKim, Disney Animation Special Projects Producer, of the LA installation. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting place for this celebration of Disney animation and the incredible artists and animators who bring these worlds to life.”

Interactive features include an engaging floor projection design that moves with the audience and individual wristbands that light up in sync with the projections and based on the audience’s movement through the galleries. In addition, the Gazillion Bubbles special effects team will fill the 500,000 cubic foot galleries with bubbles.

Ahead of the opening, Lighthouse ArtSpace is hosting a final series of exhibitions Haunting Van Gogh from 1st to 11th June before Immersive Disney animation takes on the role of independent experience.
