Matt Berry is in talks to join Jason Momoa as the protagonist of Minecraft

Via Deadline report that BAFTA winner Matt Berry has entered negotiations to star in the live-action adaptation of Bayern, alongside previously announced star Jason Momoa.Minecraft‘. Berry is best known for his role as the vampire Laszlo Cravensworth on the popular FX series“What We Do in the Shadows”. He is currently slated to work on the upcoming stop-motion animated film.‘The inventor’which will also feature the voices of Stephen Fry and Daisy Ridley.

As we announced last year, Jared Hess is responsible for films like “Napoleon dynamite‘ And ‘great nacho‘, will direct the film, replacing Peter Sollett. It is an adaptation of the independent open world-type construction video game developed by Swedish indie company Mojang AB. The success prompted Microsoft to acquire Mojang for $2.5 billion.

The project will reunite Momoa with the producer of‘Dune’, Mary Parent, who will co-produce the film with Roy Lee. The game was originally released to the public in 2009, with a version in development for an eventual official release in 2011. The film has been in development for several years since Warner Bros. won the rights battle in early 2014.

Its premiere will take place on April 4, 2025.
