Audrey Hepburn biopic directed by Luca Guadagnino is canceled

The director of ‘Call me by your name“Luca Guadagnino has announced that he will not be moving forward with his previously announced Audrey Hepburn biopic. During a question and answer session at the BFI London Film Festival, a Twitter user asked him about the status of his Audrey Hepburn film starring Rooney Mara.

The director replied that the film in question would no longer be made, although he left a small door open for the future. There is no information about the possible reason for the cancellation of the project:

“Unfortunately, this project will not be implemented.”Guadagnino said.“It’s very sad because it was a great script and of course a great actress for the role of Audrey. Maybe one day …”.

The film was to have a script by Michael Mitnick, the screenwriter of‘The Giver’, ‘Vinyl’ either “The War of the Currents”, and should receive the support of Apple Studios and worldwide distribution from Apple itself. It was announced in January that the film would begin filming at the end of this year.

Audrey Hepburn was known for her appearances in films such as“Breakfast with diamonds” either“Vacation in Rome”a film for which she won an Oscar for Best Actress in 1953. Hepburn garnered attention for her influential and timeless style, which further cemented her status as a pop culture icon.
