ATTENTION: They are coming spoiler for the first episode of secret invasion
In the chapter that opens the series, we see Hill and Fury teaming up with the Skrull Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) to stop the plan of Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir), a Skrull separatist who is starting a war with the United States wants to instigate. So who is planning to bomb Russia?
However, things go wrong and Maria dies in the middle of a confrontation at the hands of the villain. This no doubt complicates matters for Nick Fury, who will have to go it alone.
During an interview with diversitySmulders spoke about what happened and what it means for the character’s future. These were his words:
“I knew it from the start, from the first call [el copresidente de Marvel] Louis D’Esposito. I guess he’s the one who calls people – he used to call me – to say, “Do you want to come over and be in Spider-Man?” I think it’s the best job on the planet that he’s the Bearer of such great news, even if the news means, “We are considering shooting Maria Hill and…she may be dead.” Who knows? Who understands this world?’”
In addition, he added:
“There is a multiverse. So I’ve known for years that the story would end like this. It was a wonderful journey. I’m so glad nothing went wrong. I can not believe it. Even when I talk about it out loud, I feel like I’m doing something wrong.
In the chat, she was asked if she believed her character actually died, to which she responded rather vaguely. Strikingly, he continued to refer to the multiverse theme. Maybe that’s how the character can come back. Everything can happen. This is how he replied:
“I mean, does it feel like the end? Marvel lives in a world so vast, complicated, and full of multiverses. So I think anything is possible. This is all above my access level, so I don’t know. His death tipped the story in a much more vulnerable direction for the rest of the characters in the series. He definitely ups the ante and puts Fury in a very emotional state. Hopefully that’s a success.”
Cobie Smulders’ attendance at secret invasion it didn’t last long, although we already know that nobody walks away from these projects for long.
