Fan Bingbing’s latest gritty thriller green night comes to North American cinemas. Film Movement has acquired all North American rights to the film and plans to bring it to theaters this winter, followed by a release on home entertainment and digital platforms.

Set in South Korea, the film follows a Chinese woman as she escapes her oppressive husband and embarks on a thrilling and dangerous adventure with a mysterious green-haired girl. Directed by Chinese director Han Shuai and filmed in Korean and Mandarin. green night It celebrated its world premiere in February at the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival, where it was positively received by critics. The film stars Lee Joo Young, who recently starred in Hirokazu Kore-eda’s favorite Cannes film estate agents.

The plot of the film can be summarized as follows: To escape her troubled past, Chinese citizen Jin Xia (Fan) marries a Korean named Lee Seung-hun in exchange for legal status in South Korea. One night, the overly practical Xia meets a mysterious green-haired girl and soon finds herself in the dangerous world of drug trafficking. Inexplicably attracted to this stranger, Xia brings her home. In the end, the two kill Seung-hun in a not-so-random accident. On the run and in search of the great success that could free them from all their dependencies, they must hold their own against the men who want to dominate, possess and exploit them on their way to the underworld of South Korea.
