“Monsieur Spade” trailer, spy miniseries starring Clive Owen

AMC Networks has released the first trailer for“Monsieur Spade”, a spy miniseries starring Golden Globe winner Clive Owen. The actor plays a detective who comes out of retirement after a brutal crime is committed during his stay in France. It will premiere on AMC and AMC+ in early 2024.

Described as an ambitious crime drama, “Monsieur Spade” was created, written and produced by Emmy Award winners Scott Frank and Tom Fontana, who based it on the classic 1930 novel by American writer Dashiell Hammett. “The Maltese Falcon”In addition to Owen, the series stars Cara Bossom, Denis Mnochet, Louise Bourgoin, Chiara Mastroianni, Stanley Weber, Matthew Beard, Jonathan Zacca and Rebecca Root.

The year is 1963 and legendary detective Sam Spade (Owen) is enjoying his retirement in the south of France. In contrast to his time as a private investigator in San Francisco, Spade’s life in Bozouls is peaceful and quiet. But the rumored return of his former adversary will change everything. Six beloved nuns were brutally murdered at the local convent. As the city mourns, secrets come to light and new clues are laid. Spade discovers that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious boy who is believed to have great powers.

Owen, Barry Levinson, Teddy Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Caroline Benjo, Barbara Letellier, Simon Arnal, Carole Scotta, Carlo Martinelli and David Helpern are executive producers of the series backed by Black Bear and Haut et Court TV.
