Paramount has announced development of a sequel to “smile“, a successful 2022 horror film whose worldwide gross exceeded $217 million. “Smile 2” In the US it was dated October 18, 2024, just a few days before Halloween.

Written and directed by Parker Finn, the original film starred Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Kyle Gallner, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn and Rob Morgan. Finn is confirmed to return for the sequel, but the cast has yet to be finalized.

As for the story of the original film, Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) after witnessing a strange and traumatic incident with a patient, horrific events that she cannot explain. When an overwhelming fear begins to impact every aspect of her life, Rose will be forced to confront her troubled past in order to survive and escape her terrifying new reality.
