What will it be about?
The post-credits scene of the series Ms. Marvel had already given us a little hint of what to expect The wonders. In it, we saw Kamala Khan’s bracelet start to glow and make strange noises before the young woman disappeared. Carol Danvers suddenly appears in their place and soon realizes what an unpleasant situation they are in.
Marvel Studios’ official synopsis offers more clarity on the franchise’s next adventure:
“Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and exacted revenge on the Supreme Intelligence Agency. But unforeseen consequences mean that Carol must bear the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her into an unusual wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers merge with those of Jersey superfan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must come together and learn to work as a team to save the universe as The Marvels.”
Production team and cast
The wonders It is led by Nia DaCosta (Candy man, Small forest), based on a screenplay she co-wrote with Megan McDonnell (WandaVision), Elissa Karasik (Loki) and Zeb Wells (She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes). Sean Bobbitt (12 years of slavery) took care of the photography, while Laura Karpman (Ms. Marvel) composes the music. With a budget of $250 million, this is the most expensive film by an African-American filmmaker in history.
“It was nice to work in a different world. “It’s incredible,” the New York filmmaker commented on her experience with Marvel in an interview for Weekly entertainment. “I had more freedom than in anything else. “It’s cool because we’re all just comic book nerds who want to make a great comic book movie.”
The main cast will feature the return of Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel; Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. miracles and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau. We will also see Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury as well as Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff and Mohan Kapoor as Amir, Muneeba and Yusuf from the Khan family back on screen. They will also be part of the cast Tessa Thompson like Valkyrie; Zawe Ashton (Velvet circular saw) as Kree villain Dar-Benn and Park Seo-jun (Parasites) as a mysterious ally of Carol Danvers.
In conversation with Total filmNia DaCosta explained that her titular vigilante’s journey will allow audiences to explore unusual worlds and enjoy a “crazy and silly” film.
“The biggest difference from the other MCU films is this [The Marvels] “It’s really crazy and silly,” the director said. “The worlds we go to in this film are worlds that are different than those already seen in the MCU; brilliant worlds never seen before.”
