Lionsgate has released the trailer for “Secret hero“, biographical drama about the inspiring true story of a family struggling to achieve their dreams. The story centers on David Smallbone, a member of the pop band King & Country, who moved from Australia to the USA in 1991 with his wife and seven children.

When David Smallbone’s successful music business collapses, he moves his family from down under to the United States in search of a better future. With no less than their seven children, suitcases and their love of music, David and his pregnant wife Helen set about rebuilding their lives. Helen’s faith endures against all odds and inspires her husband and children to hold on to their faith. With their own dreams on hold, David and Helen begin to recognize the musical prowess of their children, who would later star in two of the most successful acts in the history of inspirational music: five-time Grammy Award-winning artists for KING + LAND and Rebecca St James.

Written and directed by Richard L. Ramsey and Joel Smallbone, the film stars Smallbone himself as well as Daisy Betts, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Lucas Black, Candace Cameron Bure and Terry O’Quinn. For their part, King & Country’s Joel and Luke Smallbone serve as producers along with Joshua Walsh and Justin Tolley. The premiere in the United States will take place on April 26, 2024.
