After a small preview, Netflix has released the official trailer“The Squid Game: The Challenge”a new 10-episode reality show inspired by the hit series of the same name, debuting on the platform on November 22nd.
In “The Squid Game: The Challenge,” 456 players compete for the chance to win $4.56 million, the largest cash prize in reality television history. Just like in the original series, players compete in a series of games where they test their skills.
The reality show is executive produced by Nicola Brown, Tim Harcourt, John Hay, Toni Ireland, Anna Kidd and Stephen Lambert. The production comes from Studio Lambert and The Garden, part of ITV Studios. Filming for the first season took place in the United Kingdom last January.
In addition, the second season of “The Squid Game” is currently filming, with Lee Jung-jae, Wi Ha-joon, Gong Yoo and Lee Byung-hun reprising their respective roles. Due to its success, the series received three Golden Globe nominations, becoming the first non-English language series to receive four major SAG (Screen Actors Guild Awards) nominations.
