Let’s start with the trailer ‘One piece’, live-action adaptation of the popular anime and manga series by Eiichiro Oda. The premiere of the series on the platform is scheduled for August 31.

Based on the best-selling manga in Japanese history, One Piece is a legendary high seas adventure like no other. Monkey D. Luffy is a young adventurer who has always longed for freedom. So he leaves his village to embark on a dangerous journey in search of the mythical treasure spoken of in the legend ONE PIECE and to become the pirate king. If you want to achieve this, you need to assemble the best crew and get yourself a ship to search every corner of the vast oceans, be faster than the marines and outsmart dangerous rivals without stopping.

The cast of the series consists of Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji. Additionally, the additional cast includes Morgan Davies as Koby, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida, Aidan Scott as Helmeppo, Jeff Ward as Buggy, McKinley Belcher III as Arlong, Vincent Regan as Garp, Alexander Maniatis as Klahadore, Steven Ward as Mihawk, Craig Fairbrass as Chef Zeff, Langley Kirkwood as Captain Morgan, Celeste Loots as Kaya, and Chioma Umeala as Nojiko.

The manga has been published in Shōnen Jump magazine by Japanese publisher Shūeisha since 1997 and has published a total of 94 volumes. On the other hand, the anime is produced by Toei Animation and has been airing on Fuji TV since August 1999, with more than 900 episodes to date. With more than 200 million copies sold, One Piece is the highest-grossing manga in the history of Shōnen Jump magazine.

The Netflix production was written by Steven Maeda (‘X files’), who also serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Matt Owens (Agents of SHIELD). For their part, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements of Tomorrow Studios (“Snowpiercer”) are also executive producers of the series alongside the original writer Eiichiro Oda.
