The 21st edition of the Morelia International Film Festival (FICM), which will take place from October 20 to 29, 2023, will reach its climax with the announcement of its winners, both in the feature and short film sectors as well as in the animation, fiction and documentary sectors.
On this occasion, the jury consisted of personalities such as the cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto and the actress Irène Jacob (Mexican Feature Film Section); Raúl Niño, Creative Director of Sheffield DocFest, and documentary filmmaker Michèle Stephenson (Mexican Documentary Department); Léo Ortuno, member of the Cannes Critics’ Week selection committee, and Justine Valtier, artistic director of the Regard Festival (section of Mexican short films), as well as Pável Granados, general director of Canal 22, and Ángeles Castro, director of the National School of Cinematographic Arts (section Michigan).
“We would like to congratulate all the filmmakers, the filmmakers from the different professions and especially those who received recognition this evening, and we hope that their time at the festival will give a boost to their careers,” explained Cuauhtémoc Cárdenas Batel, co-founder of FICM in the framework awarded at the award ceremony.
