First picture of Rachel Zegler as “Snow White”

The Walt Disney Company has released the first image of Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story‘) as Snow White in the new live-action adaptation of another Disney classic. The image shows Snow White accompanied by the Seven Dwarfs, all in CGI optics.

In addition to Zegler as the main character, the film also stars Gal Gadot (“red alert) as the Evil Queen, Andrew Burnap as Jonathan and Martin Klebba as the dwarf Grun.

Marc Webb(‘The Amazing Spider-Man‘) will sit in the director’s chair and work alongside Erin Cressida Wilson (“The Girl on the Train”) as a screenwriter for a project that will expand on the story and music of the animated classic. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (“The Greatest Showman”) will write the new songs for this film, which will be produced by Marc Platt.

Based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Disney created his animated classic in 1937, almost 85 years ago. In her story, Snow White’s evil stepmother decides to get rid of her because she cannot bear that the young woman’s beauty surpasses her own. However, Snow White manages to save herself and takes refuge in the Seven Dwarfs’ hut. Despite everything, her cruel stepmother manages to find her and poison her with an apple. But the princess isn’t dead, she’s just sleeping and waiting for a Prince Charming to save her.

The film was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Score category and two years later Walt Disney won an honorary Oscar for it. Other versions were added later, such as “Snow White and the Legend of the Huntsman‘, starring Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Chris Hemsworth; wave of ‘Snow White (mirror, mirror)‘ in 2012 with Lily Collins and Julia Roberts.

‘Snow White’will hit theaters on March 21, 2025, and is just one of many in the long list of Disney classics the studio is adapting into live-action.Dumbo‘, ‘Aladdin‘ And ‘The Lion King‘ some examples of this.
