The director of’call me by your name‘, Luca Guadagnino will direct a future adaptation of the novel by Bret Easton Ellis for HBO.“The Shards”. During an interview with El Independiente, Ellis revealed that Guadagnino will direct the series and that there will be subplots not present in the original novel.
The novel centers on seventeen-year-old Bret, a senior at the exclusive Buckley Preparatory School, when a new student arrives with a mysterious past. It’s about Robert Mallory, a brilliant, handsome, and charismatic boy who keeps a secret from Bret and his friends, even as he becomes part of their closed circle.
The original idea is that The Shards will consist of three seasons of ten episodes, with Ellis writing each of those episodes.
