Martin Lawrence changes his wife for the fourth part of “Bad Cops”.

As Variety reports, actress Tasha Smith (‘Rich’) has signed on to work with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith on the next episode of ‘Bad Cops.’bad boys 4‘. The Sony Pictures sequel is currently in production.

Smith will play the role of Marcus’ wife, Theresa Burnett, a character previously played by Theresa Randle (‘Space Jam’). The reasons that led to Randle not participating in this new installment after appearing in the first three films have not been disclosed.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct this project from a script by Chris Bremner. Joining Smith as Mike Lowrey and Lawrence as Marcus Burnett, the film stars Eric Dane, Paola Nnez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ioan Gruffudd and Alexander Ludwig.

Jerry Bruckheimer, Will Smith for Westbrook, Doug Belgrade and Chad Oman will produce the film, with Martin Lawrence, James Lassiter, Mike Stenson, Barry Waldman and Jon Mone serving as executive producers.

The first film in this comedy-action saga was released in 1995 and grossed $66 million domestically and $141 million worldwide.
